De Beers Forevermark diamonds are hand-selected for their beauty and rarity, and each is genuine, untreated and natural. As part of the De Beers Group of Companies, De Beers Forevermark benefits from over 125 years of diamond expertise. Experts at the De Beers Forevermark Diamond Institute carefully inspect every diamond, going beyond the technical qualities of the 4Cs to hand-pick only those diamonds that are truly beautiful.

Of all the world’s diamonds, less than one percent is eligible to become De Beers Forevermark.

Responsibly Sourced

Each De Beers Forevermark diamond is also responsibly sourced, originating at one of a handful of carefully selected, De Beers' approved mines that benefit the people, community and country where they are located. Forevermark traces each diamond along its journey, ensuring strict business, environmental and social standards are met at every step.

Unique Inscription

Every De Beers Forevermark diamond receives an inscription that represents our promise that it is beautiful, rare and responsibly sourced. This means you can be proud to own and wear your De Beers Forevermark diamond forever.

Invisible to the naked eye, this inscription includes the De Beers Forevermark icon and a unique number, making each De Beers Forevermark diamond as special as the promise made when it is given or received. SELECTION BEGINS WITH THE ROUGH

All rough diamonds must come from approved sources that meet the De Beers standards for responsible sourcing. Once this is confirmed, the rough diamond is examined for its inherent qualities; only rough diamonds of superior quality are eligible for De Beers Forevermark. Flaws such as large inclusions and any cloudiness or haziness in appearance will in turn affect the cut and polished diamond’s brilliance. Therefore, these diamonds are not accepted for the De Beers Forevermark brand. While all of these features may not affect a diamond's clarity on grading report, De BeersForevermark sees them as limitations to beauty.

A DIAMOND'S POLISH

De Beers selects Diamantaires who are among the world’s leading diamond cutters and polishers to craft De Beers Forevermark diamonds. Their expertise and ability to meet De Beers Forevermark’s exacting standards of polish, symmetry, and proportions result in a De Beers Forevermark diamond being cut and polished to magnify its beauty and brilliance, not to maximize its carat weight. Once a diamond is cut and polished it is sent to the De Beers Forevermark Diamond Institute for further analysis. When it first arrives it is tested to ensure that it is natural and untreated. Then, each diamond undergoes a deep analysis of the quality of the cutting and polishing of the diamond to ensure its polish has a high degree of transparency—its ability to reflect and refract light. The transparency of a diamond is not covered within a standard 4Cs grading report.

A DIAMOND’S SYMMETRY, STRENGTH, AND DURABILITY

De Beers Forevermark excludes diamonds that may have durability issues. Those cut with a shallow crown or steep pavilion are rejected, as those diamonds are vulnerable to abrasions, chipping and breakage. These features are not verified within a standard 4Cs grading report. Only those diamonds that meet all the fundamental steps of De Beers Forevermark’s rigorous selection process earn the De Beers Forevermark inscription, which consists of the exclusive De Beers Forevermark icon and a unique identification number.

The De Beers Forevermark Black Label Collection

The De Beers Forevermark Black Label Collection & Day's Jewelers present a new generation of diamonds, cut with supreme symmetry and unprecedented accuracy to release a dazzling light. Available in round, square, cushion, oval, and heart shapes, the Black Label Collection is the most exclusive collection of diamond cuts ever conceived. Black Label diamonds are different because of how and where the diamond facets are placed. When cutting a diamond to achieve outstanding optical performance, the facets must be handcrafted with meticulous precision. Each facet in the pavilion, crown and girdle of the diamond must be exactly the right size and placed at exactly the right location and angle, to within a few microns, for exacting symmetry, resulting in maximum sparkle.

Historically, the round brilliant diamond has been the only shape to be cut with supreme symmetry and therefore to achieve maximum light performance. However, today, with state-of-the-art advances in technology and expert craftsmanship, De Beers Forevermark is able to offer diamonds in square, cushion, oval, and heart shapes with symmetry that achieves optimum facet alignment. For the first time, fancy shape diamonds are able to exhibit brilliance, fire, and scintillation comparable to round brilliant cuts, establishing a new collection of diamonds with unmatched brilliance.

The De Beers Forevermark Exceptional Diamond Collection

De Beers Forevermark is built on the De Beers promise that each diamond must be beautiful, rare and responsibly sourced. The Exceptional Diamond Collection represents the pinnacle of that promise, containing some of the most exquisite diamonds in the world. Every year, only a select number of Exceptional Diamonds are discovered. They are kept separate from other diamonds from the very first moment – their carat weight and singular beauty instantly marking them out as truly remarkable. Each diamond must be at least three carats – though many are much larger – and is accompanied by its own bespoke book which documents key milestones and photography of the diamond’s journey.
